Can I paint my LPG tank?
The short answer is no!
Bulk LPG tanks are usually owned and maintained by your supplier, and the external coating is specifically engineered to protect against corrosion, withstand environmental conditions, and help regulate the temperature of the gas inside the tank.
Painting the tank yourself can compromise this protective coating, obscure critical safety stickers that must remain visible at all times, and increase heat absorption. This can lead to a rise in internal pressure, which the tank is carefully designed to manage under controlled conditions.
Even something as simple as painting the tank can introduce unnecessary risk. For safety and compliance, any repainting or maintenance should always be carried out by your LPG supplier, ensuring the work is completed correctly, and in line with all relevant regulations.
